   Rebecca Lowe This column has been a big fan of backing Sociedad at home this season and Malagas trip to the Anoeta this weekend offers another opportunity.
   
   Sociedads promotion season last year was based on stunning home form and that has been the cornerstone of what has to be considered a triumphant return to La Liga. 8 wins from 13 is a commendable return for a newly promoted side, and on the back of this Real sit pretty in 9th place.
   
   
   Of course, home form has to be good, because away from home they get very little, but if anything that only averages up the odds for their home matches.
   
   No win in the last 3 matches is a worry of course, especially at this time of year when sides who are perhaps in a false position or were an unknown quantity in the first half of the season can come unstuck. Fatigue and stretched resources come into play too. But of those 3 matches, 2 were away at tough venues. And preceding that run was two home wins. Lets not give up on the San Sebastian outfit just yet.
   
   Particularly when they are playing a side who have managed just 3 away wins from 14 attempts this year, and have only kept one clean sheet since November. Arab investment and the two top coaches havent been able to lift Malaga from a desperately disappointing relegation dogfight and the Costa Del Sol side sit rock bottom.
   Just 1 win in 10 for Malaga is no sort of record for taking on a long trip north to the Anoeta and confidence in the camp must be as bad as their league position.
   
   San Sebastian is not a happy hunting ground for the Andalucians anyway, with just 1 win to show from the last 8 attempts.
   
   Real Sociedad look decent value to continue that trend at even money.

   Rebecca Lowe Both clubs have been suffering through a tough period of late, losing games and generally looking a little off the pace.
   
   However, I am more concerned with the stability of the Arsenal dressing room, with rumours of unrest around the tactics employed in Barcelona, while Manual Almunia was outspoken in criticising fellow teammates and their work ethic in that loss.
   
   Sir Alex Ferguson would have spent a week building the siege mentality at the club, and he has veteran players there to help some of the others get through this tough rut. United also had the benefit of a free week to build for this game and I think that could stand them in a good position here.
   
   As I said in December when previewing the League game, United should not be priced up as odds against at home when playing any team, and I think there is a bit of value on the home win.
   
   Team changes will be key to the game with Marseille in mind for United on Tuesday, but I just feel they are more united (pardon the pun) than Arsenal seem to be at the moment, and the absence of Fabregas tips the scales to the Red Devils.
   
   It will be close again, but I will take the home win.

   Rebecca Lowe As I said in my Arsenal v Leyton Orient preview, I am not sure how the Carling Cup Final will affect this group of players. To make matters worse for Arsenal, they will be missing key players like Fabregas and Van Persie as they look to pile the pressure on Manchester United.
   
   There are also still some clear problems in defence for the Gunners and it will be interesting to see if Sunderland, who have been scoring goals recently, can take advantage of that. They missed a couple of chances to extend their run of scoring in games at Everton last week, but I am sure Steve Bruce will fancy his sides chances to put the cat amongst the pigeons here.
   
   It is also clear that Sunderland are having real problems protecting their own goal and are missing the defensive qualities that Lee Cattermole can give by sitting in front of the back 4. However, the Sunderland players must be feeling better knowing that Fabregas and Van Persie will not be around to threaten them here.
   
   It just seems this game is likely to have goals in it, and I was a little surprised that 'Both Teams to Score' was priced up at evens in some places. While Sunderland have failed to score in their last 2 visits to this part of London, they did find the net here in 6 of their previous 7 visits and I can see them giving the Gunners another tough battle here.

   Rebecca Lowe The first match between these teams this season was really exciting one as Vfl Wolfsburg had a 2-0 lead, but in the last 20 minutes they had conceded three goals and lost that match 2-3.
   
   Bayer Leverkusen have a very strong home record against Vfl Wolfsburg and they are undefeated in the last 13 matches played in Leverkusen.
   
   Bayer Leverkusen will look to bounce back and to make up for the dropped points in the last round. Vfl Wolfsburg are quite unpredictable with the way of playing and are still adapting to the new coach and the new players as there are six newcomers in the team.
   
   Having on mind the tradition, the current form and the team qualities i think that Bayer Leverkusen will come into this match with much bigger devotion and that they will take the important three points in the race for the second place that leads directly into the Champions League.

   Rebecca Lowe Manchester City will aim to get a win here after the latest twist to hit them which is the news that defender Kolo Toure had failed a drugs test and the former City captain, 29, has been suspended pending further investigation.
   
   Mancini has been struggling with injuries and needs to maintain form and confidence if they are to secure a first-ever UEFA Champions League place. With 10 games left they are still in with a shout of the Premier League title after United were beaten by Chelsea in midweek.
   
   However both Chelsea and Tottenham are just three points behind them in the standings and with a game in hand. Their long season is taking its toll on them with a trip to Dynamo Kiev to come next Thursday for the Europa League to come still.
   
   
   But they will be pleased by the 3-0 win they had over Aston Villa in the FA Cup to set up a quarter-final tie at home to Championship side Reading next Sunday. In that game Mario Balotelli scored his 10th goal of the season against Villa as he impressed as a lone striker and looks set to keep his place here.
   
   City will be eager to get back to winning ways after the draw against Fulham last Sunday left them with one league win in five. They have a good run of recent meetings with Wigan though. In the first seven Premier League encounters they had failed to beat Wigan, but since then have seen three City victories, with the Blues winning 2-0 at the DW Stadium in September and 3-0 in the corresponding fixture last season.
   
   Carlos Tevez scored a hat-trick that day after Gary Caldwell had been sent off. Wigan does not have a good record against their north east rivals in reent weeks though.
   
   Although they drew 1-1 at Liverpool last month, Bolton then dumped them out of the FA Cup and last week's 4-0 home defeat by United left them bottom of the Premier League table. Wigan are only two points from safety, though, as they aim to secure a seventh straight season in the Premiership.
   
   As for the team news, for the home side, Toure is suspended and under FA rules will not be considered until the case is resolved. However, the good news is Vincent Kompany (hip) is expected to return in central defence while midfielder Nigel de Jong may be fit for a place on the bench after a six-game absence with an ankle injury.
   
   Nevertheless, Winger Adam Johnson (ankle) and back-up keeper Shay Given (shoulder) remain out.
   
   
   Meanwhile, Defender Emmerson Boyce (hamstring) is Wigan's only major absentee and could also miss the next game at home to Birmingham in a two weeks time.
   
   On-loan midfielder Tom Cleverley is back in contention after being ineligible to face parent club Manchester United last weekend while January signing Connor Sammon could make his debut for the visitors.
   
   Take Manchester City and give the 1 1/2 ball here.

   Rebecca Lowe On form and head to heads, Madrid should score 3 goals or more here, while despite the Mourinho effect they still do have defensive vulnerabilities, particularly conceding consolation goals.
   
   I am concerned that it is a short price but Im going to go for over 3.5 total goals in this match at 1.96. As outlined above, this bet would have collected in 5 of the last 5 meetings here.

   Rebecca Lowe I can't separate the sides, because this could easily be a boring 0-0 draw, or the 1-1 draw most are expecting. Things could go nuts, and they could draw 2-2 even, but do I want to bet on it? No.
   
   Because it only takes that one bit of skill, or luck, that might separate these two sides, and I don't want to be even more upset losing money, because seeing either of these win makes me sad enough already...
   
   In terms of value, the 3.80 available on Manchester United at Victor Chandler is a bit silly really because they are top of the league after all, and at those odds, you'd take your chance on them getting the best of the days luck. But, I hate them, so let's think some more...

   Rebecca Lowe Arsenal have lost 3 times at home already and won 5 times. What they haven't done is draw. I can't see them getting anything other than a win, and it seems the 1.30 on offer is a decent price for a selection that should be included in all accumulators.
   
   For a straight bet, take Arsenal to win by 2 or more, which has more than a 50% likelyhood of happening and is yet available at 2.00.

    Rebecca Lowe This is an important game for both sides as they look to set the markers that could lead to Premier League success in 6 months time. Home advantage is important but Arsenal have the best away record in the Premier League and should feel confident in their own ability.
    
    Manchester United have looked a little sharper in recent games as they get to the point in the season where they turn on the afterburners as they move towards a record League title success. They have the pace and the creativity to cause all shorts of problems for the Arsenal defence that has looked a little suspect at times this season.
    
    Arsenal too will cause problems I would imagine in 90 minutes of football. They too have the pace to make life difficult but a missing Cesc Fabregas could be the key to the game. United are also likely to allow Arsenal to have the ball and look to hit them on the break, a tactic that has worked brilliantly for them in the past as well as for Chelsea earlier this season.
    
    I imagine a close contest, but I have to pick the home side to win at odds against- there are not too many times United will be given such a price in front of their own supporters and I will snap it up.

    Rebecca Lowe Mainz and FC Nurnberg have played total of eight matches between each other with Mainz winning four of them, three matches were won by FC Nurnberg and one match had ended in a draw.
    
    Last time they played in April this year, FC Nurnberg won 2-0 at their home ground and interestingly the last time when FC Nurnberg beat Mainz in Mainz was way back in the year 2004.
    
    Mainz are seven points behind the leaders Borussia Dortmund at the Bundesliga table and they can not afford to slip again and let the leaders escape from them at the top. Mainz are a very good team when they play at home, not just this season, and although they had a negative series of results at their home ground recently, i think that FC Nurnberg are not a team that can cause big problems for Mainz.
    
    Mainz should win this match and keep the pace with the leaders and i am going for a home win for Mainz.

    Rebecca Lowe FC Koln and Vfl Wolfsburg have played total of 14 matches between each other, Vfl Wolfsburg have won seven times, four matches have ended in a draw and FC Koln have won just three times. Interestingly in the last season each team have won the away game.
    
    I expect this to be a tough challenge for Vfl Wolsburg, but i think that they can get the away win here.
    
    FC Koln will probably push from the start and will try to get an early lead, but Vfl Wolfsburg have more quality players in the team that can bring the three points from this away match.

    Rebecca Lowe This is a tough spot for Wigan to come into as United begin to get back to full strength. The likes of Scholes and Giggs will provide a little more creativity that had been lacking in the last couple of games and Rooney is another that will be welcomed back into the fold.
    
    Wigan should put up a more resilient effort than their last 2 with United as they have been playing a lot better since losing their opening 2 games of the season. However, they have been a little vulnerable in recent away games and will need to strengthen up to avoid conceding 2 in an away game for the 4th consecutive game.
    
    It is hard to look beyond the United win here, and I think they will be a little more comfortable than in recent games. However, I feel the best way to go forward with this game is to pick United to win to nil. That would have been a winner in 5 of the last 6 United wins over Wigan and half of their wins have satisified this criteria this season.
    
    I'll take United win to nil.

    Rebecca Lowe These two teams are usually set up in very similar ways with 2 big men up front and getting them service from wide areas while using a couple of tough tackling midfield players to break up the game.
    
    However, Newcastle will be missing 2 of their first choice midfielders for this game and this may just give the edge to a Bolton side that knows where the goal is. I was initially considering backing both teams to score, but I feel there may be a little bit of value picking Bolton to win at odds against, especially as they play a side without Barton and Tiote.
    
    It should provide for a better spectacle than people may think as both sides try and play football, but I think it will be Bolton who pull the win out in a close one.

    Rebecca Lowe I just have a feeling that we may see Chelsea perform much better in defence than they did against Sunderland last week when they were ragged and all over the place. Birmingham do not have the same sort of pace that Sunderland had in the forward positions and I feel Ivanovic will feel more confident in defending against the likes of Jerome and Zigic.
    
    Birmingham have been fairly solid in away games at Manchester City and Aston Villa in recent weeks, but will be expected to at least look for a goal in front of their home fans and they could be punished with the quality Chelsea have up front.
    
    I cant pick Chelsea at odds on, especially not with their recent struggles away from home, but I do feel they will win. The odds of 1.66 are far too short as I think this game may come down to 1 goal and I do not believe that Chelsea will thump Birmingham.
    
    I will take the bigger price of Chelsea to win by 1 goal here. I will also have small stakes on Chelsea to win 0-1.
